M.Sc. Trauma and Critical Care is a 2 yrs post-graduate course to provide critical and intensive care to patients in the emergency ward of a hospital. Critical care is the specialized and comprehensive care of patients whose conditions are life-threatening, from pre-hospital assessment through to discharge from critical and acute care environments. The course explores the management of critically ill patients, and the final dissertation requires you to examine in-depth issues related to the current practice of critically ill patients. The course also aims to inform those who teach within the critical care setting at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels to further their knowledge and teach others more effectively. Candidates are also trained to monitor equipment, record important data, and same vital data with physicians. The course also trains candidates to provide first-aid to patients in the absence of a certified medical professional.
